Making the Most of Your Time with Podcasts

Stop and think about how much time you spend in the car each day: on the way to work, stopping at the drive-through to get coffee, going to lunch, creeping home through traffic. The time can add up and start to feel like time wasted. Thankfully, there are all kinds of free podcasts available so you can be entertained and educated while waiting at the stop light. Here are some recommendations for business-related podcasts.

The EntreLeadership Podcast

Dave Ramsey is known for helping people get out of debt, but he has also gained a lot of personal success. In hisEntreLeadership podcast, you can learn about business and leadership from Dave himself, as well as hear some interviews with today’s top leaders. Topics include hiring, failure, mission statements and decision making, to name a few.

This is your life

Who doesn’t want to “live with more passion, work with greater focus, and lead with extraordinary influence”? Michael Hyatt is the Chairman of Thomas Nelson Publishers and a leading speaker on productivity, social media and leadership. His This Is Your Life podcast covers a variety of topics like boosting your energy, achieving work-life balance, and working smarter.

HBR IdeaCast

Harvard Business Review’s IdeaCast offers some great commentary from leaders in business and management. IdeaCast offers suggestions on how to best take a break, harness your creativity, and keep your employees engaged.

Freakonomics Radio

Perhaps you’ve read the book or seen the movie, but now you can get Freakonomics over your speakers. Part economics, part sociology, Freakonomics looks at “the hidden side of everything”, often revealing some of the subconscious reasons behind our motivation and choices. Topics have included the link between hand washing and financial illiteracy, why women file fewer patents, and why donors donate.
